The youth activists stood trial for holding a picket on October Square in Minsk demanding to extradite Bakiyev to Kyrgyzstan, Radio Svaboda informs.

27.04.2010 Observer thrown into jail for two days and fined
Ales Taustyka, an agent of local council candidate Ales Lahvinets, was fined 175,000 rubles on April 26.
Ales Taustyka, detained in the evening April 24 at a Minsk polling station, was accused of disorderly conduct. “They said I turned down all ballot boxes and, I beg your pardon, urinated in every corner of the ballot station,” the agent said about his accusation.
19.04.2010 Youth activist Finkevich fined
Today, on 19 April Judge Khoma of Minsk Leninski Court fined the Young Belarus activist Artur Finkevich BYR 17,500 for participating in a picket of support for the Vaukavysk entrepreneur Mikalai Autukhovich staged outside the building of the Belarusian Supreme Court on 16 April, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports.

29.03.2010 Journalist Shchukin fined million
On 26 March Buda-Kashaliova district court fined journalist and activist Valery Shchukin BYR 1,050,000 for violating Paragraph 2 of Article 22.9 of the Civil Code (distribution of periodicals without output data), following his arrest on 25 March while transporting 24,000 copies of the Nash dom independent newspaper in his car, the Belarusian Association of Journalists reports.

24.03.2010 Human rights activists fined
Today, on 24 March Minsk Leninski Court convicted Viasna’s activists Ales Bialiatski, Valiantsin Stefanovich and Iryna Toustsik of violating Article 23.34 of the Civil Code (violation of public event procedures) while staging a picket of protest against the recent execution of death penalties on 23 March in outside the Presidential Administration building in Minsk and fined them BYR 17,500 each.
