Minsk Kastrychnitski Court acquitted two activists of the ‘Havary Praudu’ (‘Speak the Truth’) civil campaign Pavel Sehau and Viachaslau Mukha, previously accused of disorderly conduct, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports.

Yesterday, on 27 July, the Minsk police detained Katsiaryna Davydzik, Mikalai Dzemidzenka, Andrei Kim and Viachaslau Siwchyk for participation in the street action in the Yakub Kolas Square dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Belarus.

On 29 July 2010 the Kobryn District Court of the Brest region found reverend Viktar Novikau, Pastor of the Church of Evangelic Faith Christians guilty of violating Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences and fined 2,100,000 rubles (700,000 rubles for three masses, served on 31 May, 7 and 14 June).

On 12 July, the Tsentralny District Court of Homel considered the lawsuit of the Homel human rights defenders Anatol Paplauny and Leanid Sudalenka against the ban imposed by the Homel City Executive Committee on over 30 pickets that the activists planned to hold in the most populous places of the city on 1 June in order to mark the International Children’s Day.
