06.10.2011 Baranavichy: Viktar Tsiapin gets fined
On 6 October the Baranavichy City and District Court considered the administrative case of Viktar Tsiapin, who was charged under Article 23.34 (“violation of the order of organizing or holding mass events”) for taking part in the organization of the People's Assembly. Judge Aksana Sarakhman found him guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 875,000 rubles.
04.10.2011 Detained participants of picket on Svaboda Square got fined
About 20 people took part in the action that was held on 3 October in Svaboda Square. Nine of them were detained. The picket was organized by women who fell victims to grave crimes and who disagree with court decisions in their civil cases and criminal cases against their relatives. The picketers held posters “Officials must answer”, “Presidential administration is reliable guard from outrage in the country” and so on.

Brest regional court has reversed the non-guilty verdict pronounced by the court of Maskouski district in the administrative case of local coordinator of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Zmitser Shurkhai, Radio Racyja reports.
22.09.2011 Homel activist Zhukouski sentenced to 15 days of arrest
On 22 September, Judge Maryna Damnenka of Homel Tsentralny District Court sentenced local opposition activist Kanstantsin Zhukouski to 15 days of administrative arrest for alleged usage of foul language and resisting arrest, the BelaPAN news agency reports.

Judge Illia Svirydau of Homel Chyhunachny District Court has sentenced two local activists Andrei Tsianiuta (10 days of arrest) and Vasil Takarenka (BYR 350,000 fine) for distributing leaflets last afternoon.

On 19 September, Judge Anatol Sotnikau of Homel Chyhunachny District Court sentenced local activists Dzmitry Shauchenka and Dzmitry Karashkou to 15 and 3 days of administrative, respectively, for alleged violation of mass events regulations, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports.

Judge Natallia Vaitsekhovich of Minsk Tsentralny District Court sentenced Uladzimer Yaromenak to 12 days of administrative arrest and Nasta Palazhanka to 11 days of arrest for alleged violating Art. 23.34 of the Administrative Code (violation of procedures for organization and conduct of mass events).

Homel-based democratic activists Vasil Paliakou and Anatol Paplauny appealed to the UN Human Rights Committee against violation of their rights by the Belarusian authorities.

13.09.2011 Zmitser Shurkhai tried in absentia for picket in support of Zmitser Dashkevich
As it became known on 13 September, on 25 August Judge Chaplyhina had tried the Brest-based civil activist Zmitser Shurkhai in his absence. She found him guilty of participation in the picket in Horki and sentenced him to 10 days of arrest. The day he spent in the remand prison in Horki had been included in this term.

Vaukavysk-based democratic activist Vital Huliak was fined 1,050,000 rubles for handing out invitations to the People’s Assembly, appointed on 8 October 2011.
08.09.2011 Minsk City Court turns down Alena Likhavid's appeal
The Minsk City Court left standing the verdict to Alena Likhavid, mother of political prisoner Mikita Likhavid. The woman had been sentenced to 10 days of arrest by Judge Vaitekhovich from the Tsentralny District Court of Minsk for participation in the silent protest action held on 20 July in Minsk. She was kept in a single cell during the 3 last days of her arrest.
07.09.2011 Ivan Shyla to spend 22 days in jail
The Horki District Court sentenced Ivan Shyla, a Salihorsk-based activist of the Young Front, to 20 days of arrest, for participation in the picket near the penal colony where the Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich is serving his two-year term, being subject to cruel and degrading treatment by the colony administration.
07.09.2011 Human rights defender summonsed to the police for “correcting the violation report”
Human rights defender Anatol Paplauny was detained by Homel police after the end of the 3 July silent protest action. He was guarded to the Tsentralny District Police department of Homel, where police captain Zura drew up a report under Article 17.1, “disorderly conduct", on the detainee.
