A number of human rights defenders representing the Human Rights Center “Viasna” and the Center for Legal Transformation “Lawtrend” conducted on 20 June monitoring of 11 administrative trials in the courts of Minsk Kastrychnitski and Leninski districts.

Shchuchyn District Court heard today the administrative cases against the leader of the Union of Poles in Belarus Mieczyslaw Jaskiewicz and member of the organization Wieranika Siebascianowicz. Both were charged with organizing an unauthorized mass event.
16.06.2013 Hrodna BCD activist keeps appealing fine
Hrodna activist of the Belarusian Christian Democracy, Siarhei Verameyenka, has not yet received the decision of the Regional Court, which dismissed his appeal against the ruling of the court of Leninski district of Hrodna, and now is virtually unwilling to send its own judgment.
13.06.2013 Vitsebsk activists lose their case and fail to get to trial over Haidukou
A member of the Conservative Christian Party BPF Yan Dzyarzhautsau and the head of the Vitebsk branch of the BPF Leanid Avtukhou came to the Vitsebsk Regional Court where their appeals against verdicts of lower courts. They weren't allowed to the second floor where the second hearing on the criminal case against civic activist Andrei Haidukou was about to begin. The cassation appeals were considered for just 15 minutes. Judge Iryna Smaliakova stated that the appeals were to be dismissed.
13.06.2013 Charges given to organizer of Milavidy Feast
On 12 June a civil activist from Baranavichy Viktary Syrytsa was officially summonsed to the Baranavichy District Police Department as one of the organizers of the Milavidy festival in honor of the 150th anniversary of the uprising of 1863.
13.06.2013 Head of disgraced "Union of Poles in Belarus" to stand trial
One more member of the unregistered "Union of Poles in Belarus", its chairman Mechyslau Yaskevich will soon be summoned to court as a defendant in administrative proceedings. The Shchychyn police forwarded to Hrodna a copy of the charges, given to Yaskevich for an alleged adminsitrative offense – holding an unsanctioned rally.
11.06.2013 Human rights activist hopes for objectivity of chairman of Supreme Court
On 8 June Baranavichy human rights activist Siarhei Housha filed an appeal to the Head of the Supreme Court of Belarus Valiantsin Sukala against the verdict of the Baranavichy court of 21 August 2012 according to which he was punished with a fine for the alleged use of foul language in a public place. The activist notes that the Brest Regional Court and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus didn't grant his appeals against the illegality of administrative punishment.
10.06.2013 Shchuchyn: pensioner to be tried for memorial cross
Shchuchyn police drew up a report of administrative offense against pensioner Veranika Sebastsyanovich, a member of the Union of Poes in Belarus which is unregistered by the authorities. The 82-year-old was mailed a copy of the report, in which she is charged with holding an unsanctioned rally.

On 9 June civic activist Viktar Syrytsa, organizer of a festival in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Milavidy, received a notice to come to the Baranavichy District Police Department on 12 June, signed by the acting head of the Police Department, lieutenant colonel D. Maisenia.
08.06.2013 Kalinkavichy District Court punishes UCP activist Dzianis Rabianok with a fine
On 7 June the hearings on the administrative case against the activist of the United Civil Party Dzianis Rabianok finished at the Kalinkavichy District Court. He was found guilty of causing bodily injury (art.9.1 CAO) and punished with a fine of 1 million rubles.
07.06.2013 Baranavichy activists ask how the authorities will implement Views of UN Human Rights Committee
On 7 June human rights defenders and social activists Siarhei Housha, Viktar Meziaka and Viktar Syrytsa filed an appeal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which they asked to be provided with information on measures taken by Belarus to implement the pinions of the UN Committee on Human Rights, set out on 27 July 2012.
05.06.2013 Vitsebsk Regional Court upholds dismissal of activist of Free Trade Union of Belarus
The judge turned down the appeal against the dismissal of the head of a unit of the independent trade union Viktar Stukau. He tried to appeal the ruling of the Polatsk City Court, which confirmed that his dismissal from the company "Polatsk-Glass" was done correctly.
