15.12.2011 MIA answers address of Belarusian Association of Journalists
The Ministry of Internal Affairs answered the address of the Belarusian Association of Journalists concerning the impunity of crimes against journalists. The journalist organization asked the ministry to reopen the criminal case concerning the disappearance of Dzmitry Zavadski and the murder of Veranika Charkasava, and hold additional check-up on the deaths of Aleh Biabenin and Vasil Hrodnikau.

On 26 November advertisement production of the Belarusian radio “Racyja” was confiscated from the car of human rights defender Viktar Sazonau. He was told that he would be informed about the fate of the confiscated items within ten days: they would be either returned to him, or destroyed.

On 6 December Siarhei Niarouny, the editor of the independent Krychau newspaper “Volny Horad”, was summonsed to the local tax inspection and presented a ruling according to which he was fined 350,000 rubles for presenting incorrect information in his income and assets declarations.

07.11.2011 Beshankovichy: teacher to be tried for distributing self-made newspaper
On 5 November teacher Heorhi Stankevich was detained in Beshankovichy while transporting self-made newspaper “Kryvinka” to regular readers by bicycle. The newspaper isn't issued periodically, as the teacher publishes it at his own expense, and has a small circulation – 290 copies.
