Tsikhanouskaya’s campaign manager detained
Maryia Maroz, manager of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s presidential campaign headquarters, has been detained this afternoon, according to the candidate’s spokesperson Hanna Krasulina.
Maroz was taken to the Frunzienski district police department and then to the detention center. The alternative candidate’s campaign chief is likely to spend the weekend in pre-trial detention, while the police do not disclose the charge she is facing.
Earlier today, officers of the Interior Ministry’s department for organized crime detained Tsikhanouskaya’s campaign activist Aleh Maiseyeu. Anton Stasheuski, member of the candidate’s security team, was also detained, reportedly by the Investigative Committee.
Yesterday, the police detained another activist affiliated with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. Andrei Smalianchuk was arrested to serve 15 days of detention.
