Stolin district: authorities determine places to campaign for presidential candidates
Stolin District Executive Committee adopted a special resolution, according to which election propaganda materials shall be produced in accordance with the requirements of the Electoral Code and posted on advertising pillars, the windows of shops and cinemas and on bulletin boards only after consultation with the leaders of these institutions.
In addition, by another decision Stolin DEC determined 21 places in the district where meetings with presidential candidates and their agents could be held. This list includes predominantly Culture Palaces and clubs, as well as the school-kindergarten in the village of Radčyck. What concerns mass events during the election campaign in Stolin district, which is most remote from the capital of the region, Brest, the local authorities also determined 21 places – stadiums, public gardens and sites near the village culture objects and shops.
However, local residents have little confidence that these sites will be used during the current elections, as only members of the initiative group of Aliaksandr Lukashenka could be seen in Stolin district at the stage of collecting signatures.
