Students of the Mahilioŭ-based Belarusian-Russian University have been forced to suspend their internship, after they were ordered to return to the city in order to sign in favor of Aliaksandr Lukashenka’s nomination, says monitor of one of the classes of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. According to him, the students had left to work as interns across the region. On July 22, he received a short message saying that he had to come to the University with his passport.

When he came back, he was told to sign in support of Aliaksandr Lukashenka. Those who refused to do so were threatened with troubles during the following session.

Local activist Aliaksei Paulouski has filed a complaint with the Mahilioŭ regional election commission.
