Members of the United Civil Party are still trying to obtain permission to stage several pickets in the Hrodna region. This time, the representatives of the party applied for a series of pickets against Decree No. 3, so-called decree against parasites. Five applications were submitted to the executive committee in Hrodna, the rest – in Slonim, Lida and Astraviec. However, none of these requests has received a positive response.

Hrodna officials have for years systematically prevented opposition activists from holding public events. According to Ms. Aliaksandra Vasilevich, chair of the UCP’s Hrodna regional office, Decree No. 3 is absolutely unconstitutional, as it is contrary to the fundamental law of the state and contains a number of inconsistencies and contradictions.
