April 15, the panel of judges of Hrodna Regional Court consisting of Judges Zoya Nikolskaya, Larysa Paliakova and presiding Judge Ihar Yarmak, turned down the appeal of Tamara Sialiun, the mother of an executed death row prisoner, Pavel Sialiun. Tamara Sialiun appealed the refusal of the appropriate state agencies to issue her the body of the son or inform her about the time and place of his burial.

Earlier Tamara Sialiun appealed to the Leninski District Court of Hrodna. March 5, the court refused to bring civil proceedings against the Corrections Department of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Belarus in connection with sending Tamara Sialiun the prison robe of Pavel Sialiun which he had been wearing before being executed.

Tamara Sialiun filed an appeal to the regional court, believing that the actions of the Leninski District Court of Hrodna violated her constitutional court to appeal to the court. Neither Tamara Sialiun nor a representative of the Corrections Department attended to consideration of the appeal at the Hrodna Regional Court. Therefore, the hearing was quite short. The appeal was dismissed.
