“Viasna” launches video project “Kitchen”
Human Rights Centre “Viasna” starts the series of video programs “Kitchen TV”.
Kitchen is a place for meeting of like-minded people, a space where people can speak freely and sincerely about their burning issues. Kitchen is a place to find ways to act together in the present circumstances.
Thus, “Kitchen TV” is a peculiar “round table” with the participation of contemporary human rights activists, representatives of the democratic community with the aim to discuss the most acute social issues.
One of the initiators and participants of “Kitchen TV”, Deputy Chairman of the Human Rights Centre “Viasna” Valiantsin Stefanovich says: “Since the Soviet times, kitchen is a symbol of non-conformism and internal emigration. However, we are not emigrants,we aren't inactive and detached observers of what is going on in our country, and we will try to influence the Belarusian society to the extent of our capabilities. We actively cooperate with international organizations and repeatedly call on the Belarusian authorities to abide by the international undertakings of the Belarusian state in the sphere of human rights.”
