Independent journalist is judged in Bobruisk

The trial of Bobruisk journalist Maryna Molchanova is scheduled on the 18th September. As its written in the service of summons, she is going to be judged under Article 22.9 of the Administrative Code, "Violation of legislation on the media."

The judge Natalia Cherepuha will be investigating the case. Previously, she was already investigating cases against the blogger Aleh Zhalnova and other social activists.

It should be pointed out that it was Lieutenant Colonel Siarhej Rud'ko who opened an administrative case against Marina Malchanava. The first attempt to open a case against independent journalist by a policeman was in April of this year, after the appearance of her materials on anti-war picket. There was an unpleasant incident during her last visit into the office of lieutenant colonel: Siarhej Rud'ko used physical force, trying to take away journalist’s notes relating to the case.
