As it became known to co-chair of the organizing committee for the creation of the party "Belarusian Christian Democracy" Paval Sevyarynets, a criminal case against catholic priest Uladzislau Lazar is closed because of the lack of evidence.

"Who will take responsibility for the fact that an innocent priest was brutally detained and kept in detention centre for six months during which he could not contact his relatives, was mocked at and his good name was blasphemed? The so-called "criminal case" has collapsed and will not be heard in trial; still we have not heard any public explanation and apologies from the intelligence services. Obviously, the “Lazar case" was an attempt to intimidate the Church and all Christian society in Belarus," Paval Seviarynets said.

Dean of the parish of Holy Spirit’s Descent in Barysau Uladzislau Lazar was secretly detained on 31 May or 1 June 2013, and placed in the KGB pre-trial detention centre on the charges of providing monetary assistance to a person who was suspected of spying against Belarus. He was released after six months only.
