Traditionally, on 10 December, International Human Rights Day, human rights activists and volunteers hold information actions in Minsk. This time they handed out the texts of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, printed materials on the topic of the death penalty and answered questions relating to the human rights situation in Belarus.

Most passers
took the printed materials with curiosity, and responded positively to the congratulations, so for a short time several hundreds leaflets and postcards were handed out. The rally went without arrests.

Sixty-five years ago, on 10 December 1948, the UN General Assembly adopted
the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The UN Assembly urged all Member States to publicize the text of the Declaration and do everything possible to spread it and clarify its provisions, especially in schools and other educational establishments, without distinctions based on the political status of countries or territories.
