Barysau human rights defenders congratulate the local authorities on the Human Rights Day
On 5 December Barysau human rights defenders Maryna Statkevich sent congratulations on the Universal Day of Human Rights to the Barysau City Executive Committee, Barysau District Court and Barysau City Police Department.
"On 10 December 1948 the UN General Assembly adopted adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by its Resolution 217 A (III) . Since 1950, 10 December is celebrated worldwide as Human Rights Day. The Declaration was proclaimed by the General Assembly as a task, a common standard of achievement for all peoples and nations.
We hope that the words recorded in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will assist you in the performance of public duties for the benefit of society, security and peace in our homes," wrote the human rights defenders.
The congratulations were also accompanied by a "Human rights calendar" and the text of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, made in the form of applications.
