Several days ago, an enlarged plenum of the Mahiliou Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus and the regional ideologists took place. According to the internet website of the Asipovichy district newspaper "Asipovitski krai", the ideologists and the pro-government Communists “have clearly have clearly defined the objectives for each stage of the electoral campaign which will start in December”.

The surprising thing is that ideologists who are state officials have coordinated the plan of activities for the local elections with members of the Party of Communists of Belarus, one of the political parties acting in the country. They must have forgotten that since 1990-ies the Communist party no longer rules the country.

The plenary sitting was attended even by the head of the Directorate of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs of the Mahiliou Regional Executive Committee Anatol Synkavets. During the event, participants of the enlarged plenum of the PCB had an opportunity to visit a number of enterprises and organizations in the Asipovichy district and meet with their employees. It is hard to imagine, even in theory, that such opportunities could be provided to an opposition political party.

According to the Internet site of the newspaper "Asipovitski krai", after the end of the plenum, “many representatives of youth, veterans and other social organizations started thinking about stepping up work on the eve of the election."
