Tell the Truth Belaaziorsk activist appeals warning under Art. 193.1

Aliaksandr Kuzmin, activist of the Tell the Truth civil campaign from the town of Belaaziorsk, Brest region, filed a complaint with the Regional Prosecutor’s Office to contest a warning he received for alleged illegal NGO membership.

Aliaksandr Kuzmin urges the prosecuting authorities to reverse the warning issued by the Prosecutor of Biaroza district Dzmitry Dzerabin, arguing that his involvement in separate campaigns of Tell the Truth cannot be viewed as activities on behalf of an unregistered NGO.

The warning was issued after chairman of Belaaziorsk town executive committee, Viachaslau Dambrouski, filed a statement with Biaroza district department of internal affairs. The statement was followed by a 80-page case file.

Meanwhile, the activist and his lawyer had to wait for a month to be able to see the case materials.
