Ales Bialiatski has been deprived of all meetings scheduled for the next six months. On 13 February this information was confirmed by the administration of the Babruisk colony #2 where he is currently kept.

Bear in mind that in 2012 the imprisoned head of the HRC "Viasna" was deprived of the one out of three short-time meetings and of one of the two long-term meetings with his relatives. As Ales Bialiatski learned on 5 February , in the new year he was deprived of another long-term meeting. Somewhat earlier he was also informed about the deprivation of a short-term meeting.

Thus, the next meeting is expected to take place not earlier than in August 2012.

Human rights defenders consider this increase of the pressurization towards Ales Bialiatski and other political prisoners as a desperate attempt of the Belarusian authorities to force the EU to the renewal of the dialog.
