Aliaksandr Melnik, former candidate for Parliament in Brest-based constituency No. 1, has received replies to his complaints of alleged election violations submitted to the Court and the Prosecutor’s Office of Leninski District.

The Court said it would not consider the complaint, but failed to specify the reasons for that. The Prosecutor’s Office also refused to address the complaint.

Aliaksandr Melnik says the dismissals are groundless and intends to appeal the decisions at Brest Regional Court.

In his appeal, the former candidate argued that the election officials rigged vote count results at one of the city’s polling stations located in a hospital.
