A documentary entitled “Departed on Sentence” that was created by Viktar Tratsiakou and Palina Stsepanenka and deals with the issue of the death penalty was presented on Sunday in the southern town of Mazyr, Homel region.

A number of screenings of the film scheduled across the country are said to be aimed at eliminating the information gap on the key issue of modern society. According to Andrei Paluda, coordinator of the Human Rights Defenders against the Death Penalty campaign, says one of the immediate effects of such events are numerous questions asked by those attending the screenings.

Andrei Paluda also says human rights defenders are planning to organize a film festival dealing with the death penalty.
