The administrative commission of Slutsk district executive committee has fined local activist Vital Amialkovich 1 mln. rubles for posting stickers on the wall of a building back on 14 July.

Vital Amialkovich, observer representing the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, was detained outside his house and charged with posting stickers in the town. The police report reportedly contained numerous procedural violations.

During the consideration of the case, the activist argued that policeman who arrested him was mistaken and it was not Vital who posted the stickers. The activist says he could not see the policeman even at the trial.

Apart from that, the initial charges brought against Vital Amialkovich were changed ahead of the commission’s sitting, while the defendant himself was not notified of the change.
