Maksim Viniarski thrown in Moscow jail for supporting Pussy Riot
An activist of the civil campaign “European Belarus”
has been sentenced to 5 days in custody.
Maksim Viniarski took part in a picket near Moscow's Khamovnichesky District Court, where
members of the scandalous punk band are standing trial.
Picketers, among them Maksim Viniarski, were arrested. He spent several days
behind bars until trial and was then sentenced to 5 days in custody and taken
to a detention facility.
Local human rights activists told the charter97.org
website they passed food parcels and books to the activist. People have pickets
in front of the detention facility to support the arrested activists.
