“BelSat” journalists detained in Vitsebsk
Police detained Volha Starostina and
Dzyanis Mikhailau as they were shooting a reportage.
The “Belsat” TV journalists were interviewing city dwellers asking if they know
their members of parliament. Dzianis Mikhailau
managed to tell RFE/RL they had been detained near Victory Square in the
city center.
The journalists are now in the Chyhunachny district police department in
Vitsebsk. They are giving written explanations. Their further fate is unknown.
Independent journalists Yuliya Darashkevich
and Iryna Kozlik were detained in
Minks yesterday. They are standing trial now.
