Law-enforcement officers hold preventive talks with democratic activists, informing them about administrative liability for taking part in unsanctioned events.

“Policemen had a talk with a local “Tell the Truth” activist in Khotimsk (the Mahiliou region) last week,” journalist Barys Vyrvich says. “He had to sign a document saying he was informed about responsibility for taking part in unsanctioned events.”

According to the journalist, an officer of the KGB department on Kastsiukovichy talked to another activist of the campaign:

“The activist signed a paper saying he was warned about responsibility. It should be noted that actions by law-enforcement agencies to intimidate democratic activists bring results – the activists asked not to say their names. They are warned they will have to pay big fines if they are noticed in photos on the Internet in relation to street actions.
