A fire happened at the nuclear power plant construction site in Astravets at 6 a.m. on 12 February, but information about it was spread only yesterday.

According to construction workers, a trailer at the security area of the construction site took fire. Specialists suppose a possible cause of the fire could be a wiring problem, RFE/RL reports.

Construction workers’ belongings kept in the trailer are reported to have been burnt. The preliminary damage of the fire is estimated at about 10 million rubles. A special commission has been created to investigate the incident.

The Astravets department of the Emergency Ministry says no human losses were recorded.
