Police refute information on mass detentions in Krupki

The regional police also doubt the information that riot policemen beat people.

The policemen have informed to the BelaPAN news agency that an upheaval of criminality in public places has been recorded recently at the territory of Krupki district. Therefore, a special complex event "Public Order" was conducted there on November 18-21. 11 riot policemen helped the Krupki police.

19 disco clubs and places of entertainment were checked within these three days. 13 people were fined for petty hooliganism, 27 people were fined for being in a public place under the influence of alcohol, one person was detained for storage of drugs (he had 3,3 grams of cannabis with him).

The policemen say that they beat no one and used special means only once - they handcuffed a drunk man.
