The protest action against the new rise of fuel prices and decrease in the life standards was scheduled for 7 p.m.

This time the central streets of the city were not blocked by the police. According to a correspondent of Salidarnasts paper, this action was not as massive as the previous ones. Between 6:15 and 7:50 p.m. the traffic on the central streets was normal for Minsk rush-hour. To show their support, some drivers were blowing horns, and a number of cars were parked along the street. The police evacuated all parked vehicles, such as a black Mercedes parked near the circus.

At Peramoha Square, by the statue, the well-known vice chief of the municipal interior department of Minsk Ihar Yauseyeu was observing the situation with his team.

According to Radio Svaboda, the dense concentration of the police in the city center indicated that soon the action “Stop-petrol” would be held. Patrols of two policemen with radios were walking alongside Pieramozhtsy Avenue. Police in civilian clothes were keeping their watch behind trees and street lamps.

We remind that a number of concerned drivers declared a protest action “Stop-petrol” to be held against the rising petrol prices and decreasing life standards. They demonstrate by driving to the main streets of the cities and hindering the traffic by driving 20 km/h, and by “unexpected breakage” of their vehicles.
