On 2 September Viktar Sazonau, human rights defender
from Hrodna, was summonsed to the police station in Haradnichanskaya Street. There he was
informed that a report for violation of Article 22.9, “unlawful production and distribution
of unregistered printed production”, had been drawn up on him.
The matter is that on 23 August Mr. Sazonau had been detained in Zhyliber Park while handing out informational
bulletins in support of Ales Bialiatski. The same day his apartment and working
place were searched and two computers and many informational materials were
taken away. Now Viktar is waiting for a court writ.
