The collection of signatures for nomination of candidates for the presidential election started on 30 September. Members of the electoral teams of potential candidates held street pickets and paid visits to houses and apartments to collect signatures.

On 11 October the electoral picket of Uladzimir Niakliayeu near the Homel supermarket was shot on video by a camera crew of the Belarusian TV. ‘They didn’t introduce themselves, didn’t ask anything, but just took out their camera and started videoing. I consider it as an attempt to intimidate the people who signed for Mr. Niakliayeu. By the way, I didn’t agree to be shot on the video and warned the cameraman and the correspondent about it. They just answered that they implemented an errand of the administration of the TV channel,’ said the member of Niakliayeu’s electoral team Kanstantsin Zhukouski.
