On 30 September the police burst into the apartment of the civil activist Barys Ashchepkau who helped the parents and members of the arrested anarchists to communicate with human rights defenders.

Barys was detained for three days, allegedly for participation in a happening that was held by anarchists near the General Staff on 19 September 2009 to protest against the joint Belarusian-Russian military training. The police detained Dzianis Bystryk, but the details of this detention aren’t known so far.

Ihar Trukhanovich was released after 6 days of arrest under a written undertaking not to leave. He received no charges. Bear in mind that arrests of youth activists started after an assault of unknown persons on the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Minsk on 30 August.
