Havary Praudu activist Pashkevich fined BYR 1,400,000
Minsk Maskouski Court fined Mikail Pashkevich, activist of the ‘Havary Praudu’ civil campaign, BYR 1,400,000 for staging an unauthorized rally on the International Youth Day, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports.
On 12 August, a group of youth activists tried to address the Ministry of Education with a petition against the authorities’ bureaucratism in their youth policy. The petition was accepted, however one of the participants – Mikhail Pashkevich – was detained and later sentenced to a large fine as the organizer of the event.
