Not a single ballot appeared to have been cast in favour of Ales Silkou during the early vote campaign, leader of the Freedom and Progress Party, running for the Mahiliou Regional Council.
‘In 9 polling stations, located within my constituency, I did not receive a single vote during the early vote. It is symbolic that in two polling stations I was supported by the same amount of voters – 253,’ says Mr. Silkou.
‘I think that the local council elections is a rehearsal ahead of the presidential election, and if the authorities say no to early vote, they will pass away before long,’ says the politician.
