Another Detention for Distributing "Novy Chas"
The United Civil Party activists Zmitser Kavalhin and Katsiaryna Shakal got detained in the premises of Leninski district administration in Minsk this Monday. They were distributing the "Novy Chas" non-state weekly, officially registered by the Ministry of Information of Belarus.
Ihar Shynkaryk, head of UCP Executive Board informed BAJ Press Service that the youngsters had been detained by order of Uladzimir Litsetski, executive manager of the Leninski district administration.
It is worth reminding that a well-known democratic activist Ivan Kruk was detained for distributing "Novy Chas" at Astravets district executive committee (Hrodna region) not long ago. The executive committee officials composed an act "about illegal distribution" of "Novy Chas" and threatened Kruk with sending the paper to Astravets dstrict public prosecutor's office for a legal check.
