On November 20, students of Warsaw University held a n information picket in support of political prisoner Alyaksandr Barazenka, activist of the civil initiative “European Belarus”, who studied in Wroclaw.
According to Anatol Mikhnavets, one of the organisers of the picket, the action attracted attention of students and passers-by, Radio Racyja reports.
“People came up and took leaflets. We had national white-red-white flags that attracted people, because Warsaw dwellers don’t want to take promo materials. So they could see that we are Belarusians. Some of them even said ‘Long Live Belarus!’ This action is very important, it is support and solidarity that we lack,” Anatol Mikhnavets says.
The back of leaflets contains address of the detention facility where Alyaksandr Barazenka is kept and a call to write letter to support the political prisoner.
A similar picket in the frames of the actions of solidarity with imprisoned Belarusians was held yesterday in Krakow.
Next pickets are planned to be organised in Lublin, Gdansk, and Gniezno.
