The court marshals seized property from a former MP Siarhei Skrabets for the second time. They confiscated a kitchen unit, a sofa and other things for a total amount of 600 000 Belarusian rubles (about $282).
It was made in accordance with a decision of the Supreme Court.
The property was seized for the first time a year ago. But Siarhei’s mother bought back the most necessary things. This time property of the parents was seized, too. Some items belonging to Siarhei Skrabets were also confiscated.
‘So, my things were confiscated two times: at first form me, and then from my parents. It is crazy. Frankly speaking I don’t know how I should react to this,’ Siarhei Skrabets told to RFE/RL.
Siarhei Skrabets is a member of the parliamentary group Respublika in the House of Representatives of the 2nd Convocation, was arrested in May 2005 and sentenced to 2,5 years of imprisonment allegedly for loan extortion. Siarhei Skrabets didn’t admit his guilt. He thinks he was unlawfully convicted fro his oppositional activity. The former MP was released after 1,5 years in prison.
