Public figures visited Kurapaty memorial area to pay tribute to heroes of Slutsk uprising, repressed and killed under Stalin’s rule.

Traditionally, people lightened oil lamps, laid flowers to crosses and sang national hymn Lord Almighty.

Nina Bahinskaya, one of the participants of the action, member of the Conservative Christian Party of the Belarusian Popular Front, tried to bring a national white-red-white flag to Kurapaty. But unknown people standing near the entrance to the memorial area run up to elderly woman and tried to snatch a flag out of her hands. They broke the flagpole and tore the national flag. The police officers who were on duty in the memorial area refused to detain the unknown abusers.
