On 10 November near Leninski district court of Minsk there took place an action in support of several Young Front members who had been detained for a picket near the KGB office on 7 November, an anniversary of October revolution.
Associates of the detained activists, officers of the French Embassy and human rights activists came to Leninski district court. Among the famous people who took part in the action there are Viachaslau Siuchyk, Ales Makayeu and Zmitser Dashkevich, RFE/RL reports.
About 20 people, holding a white-red-white flag, portraits of activists and a banner ‘Freedom to Political Prisoners’, formed a human chain before the trial. They were chanting ‘Freedom to Political Prisoners!’ for some minutes.
It should be reminded that at the time of the action the youth activists who had been detained for the banner ‘Communism Must be Tried by Tribunal’ near the KGB office on 7 November, were being tried at Leninski district court.
Several youth activists hanged a white-red-white flag over the roof of the court. Among them there was Yuliya Mikhailava, participant of a picket held on 7 November. The youngsters were detained and guarded to the court building.
