McGill says, the officials are not eager to meet with her. The Supreme Court, for instance, could not find time for a meeting. Only the representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported, they were considering the possibility of a meeting.
First of all, the international human rights defender is interested in the issue of using death penalty in the judicial practice of the Republic of Belarus and the prospects of its final abrogation. Heather McGill also plans to visit several cities and meet with local human rights defenders.
