The Ministry of Economy of Belarus is set to increase the administrative fine for legal entities.
This agency has prepared a draft law On changes in the Administrative Code and Administrative Procedure Code of Belarus according to which it is offered to increase the maximal administrative fine for legal entities from 1000 to 2000 basic units, Ezhednevnik writes.
The chairman of Minsk union of entrepreneurs and employers Uladzimir Karahin voiced sharp criticism of this initiative.
According to him, the draft law does not comply conceptually with the offers of the association of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists of Belarus, aimed at development of business initiatives, cushioning of risks in business activities, reducing fines and punishments for administrative violations while carrying out business activities.
However, this initiative fully conforms to the scandalous decree #179 by the Economy Ministry. The idea is to make the rules more severe sneakily, and then reverse everything vociferously, presenting that as another breakthrough in the development of the business environment in Belarus.
