On 10 September Sianno district police department held an operation on armed seizure of a ‘criminal’ in the post office of the town of Sianno.
The ‘criminal’ was handing out to electors the Tovarishch newspaper and agitated for its chief editor Siarhei Vazniak, candiate for deputy at Sianno electoral constituency #30 (Liozna, Siannoa and Talochyn districts).
The detained ‘criminal’ was a member of the Party of Communists Belarusian Mikalai Piatrushenka, citizen of this electoral constituency. Being asked why they detained him, the policemen answered that they did it on the order of the duty policemen of their department.
However, when the administration of the district police department saw Piatrushenka’s journalist ID, they tore their badges out of their clothes and ran away and the duty policeman guarded the detainee out of the police department.
