Civil case brought against Ivan Kruk

A civil case has been brought against Ivan Kruk, potential candidate at Iuye electoral district. The case was brought on the suit of the housing economy of Astravets for protection of honor and dignity. On 5 August Mr. Kruk received a writ from Smarhon district court, inviting him to the preliminary court sitting, appointed on 12 August.

The matter is that in the beginning of 2008 Ivan Kruk and 50 more persons sent a collective complaint to the procuracy against unmotivated exaction of money by the housing economy. This complaint was followed by several more.

According to the answer of 17 July 2008, signed by the first deputy head of Hrodna oblast department of the State Control Committee, the materials of the conducted check-up were filed to Astravets district procuracy.

Ivan Kruk solicited for postponement of the trial till 1 September, so that he would have enough time to familiarize with the case materials. Besides, at present he and his initiative group are busy collecting signatures for his candidacy, and the trial would take much time and efforts.
