On 24 July Naviny Staradarozhchyny, the newspaper of Staryia Darohi district executive committee, published an article ‘For assistance to polling station electoral commissions’.

In this article it was stated that a working group for preparation of the elections to the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 4th Convocation has been established and operated in Staryia Darohi district. The group consists of 13 persons including head of departments of Staryia Darohi district executive committee (DEC), the police, juridical services, etc.

The working group is headed by Dzmitry Davydau, deputy head of Staryia Darohi DEC on social issues and information. It’s deputy head is Volha Parkhimovich, executive officer of Staryia Darohi DEC. According to the article, all these officials will give practical aid to polling station commissions, but no details of such ‘aid’ are given.

Bear in mind that the establishment of such groups contradicts the norms of the present electoral legislation.
