The Russian service of the pan-European TV channel Euronews informed about the reaction of the Belarusian population to the sanctions imposed by the US.
The TV Channel quoted the statement of the spokesperson of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Andrei Papou on recalling Belarusian diplomat from the US and recommendations to the US Ambassador to leave Belarus. The words of the representatives of the US Department of State were quoted who expressed a disappointment by the decision of Belarusian authorities. But the reason for imposing sanctions against Lukashenka’s regime was not mentioned by Euronews at all. As a result, the report could cause puzzlement with the people unaware of the situation: why the US has imposed sanctions against Belarusian regime?
The reason of imposing sanctions is firstly the refusal of the Belarusian regime to release political prisoners. Today a former presidential candidate Aliaksandr Kazulin, a youth leader Andrei Kim and the leader of entrepreneurs Siarhei Parsiukevich are staying in prison.
