The Ministry of Justice of Belarus had sued to the Supreme Court for liquidation of the Party of Communists Belarusian. There the ministry states that the party continued violating laws even after written warnings.

On 2 August the Supreme Court suspended the activity of the PCB for six months. However, the Ministry of Justice is of the opinion that during this time the party continued its activity, which is prohibited by the law.

In particular, in the suit it is mentioned that the party joined the organizing committee of the European March street rally and on 30 August signed an agreement concerning the principles of participation in the parliamentary election. In addition, in October 2007 the deputy chair of the PCB Siarhei Vazniak took part in the conference of the Party of the European Leftists in Kishinev and Siarhei Kaliakin, the leader of the party – in an assembly of the Party of the European Leftists in Prague.
