Artur Finkevich to Be Tried on December 20

19.12.2007. Tags: Young Front, Finkevich, criminal persecution.

The trial will start at 10.30 a.m., on December 20th, 2007 at Kastrychnitski court of Mahiliou.

Youth activist Artur Finkevich was sentenced to 2 years of restriction of freedom (open type jail) on May 10th, 2006. He was found guilty of painting graffiti “We want new president!”, and “Enough!” on the walls before the presidential election. He has already served almost the whole sentence, when the authorities instigated new criminal proceedings against him. He faces up to three years of imprisonment on the charge of “avoiding the punishment of freedom restriction” (Article 415 of the Criminal Code).

We call to support Artur Finkevich and come to the trial. Kastrychnitski court of Mahiliou is located at Bonch-Bruyevich Street, 2 in Mahiliou
