Bear in mind that on 7 November the leader of Salihorsk branch of the Young Front Ivan Shyla took part in the action ‘Put Communism to Tribunal’ in the central square of Salihorsk. During the action the police detained three youth activists including Shyla. The policemen composed against Shyla a report for resisting to their lawful demands and passed it to the prosecutor’s office for bringing a criminal case against him. The people who watched the detention revolted against these groundless accusations, because Shyla could not resist with his arms twisted behind his back. Nevertheless, during a month’s term the prosecutor’s office was checking the police information. Finally, it took the youngster’s side.
It’s worth mentioning that the policemen also composed reports of administrative violations against two other detainees. Having considered these reports, the administrative commission of Salihorsk town executive committee imposed huge fines on the schoolchildren. The youngsters, in their turn, appealed against these unfair verdicts. They are going to pass all the court instances and then, in the case of negative answers, apply to the UN Committee on Human Rights.
