The judge of Vitsebsk regional court Anatol Redzko did not grant the cassation complaint that was filed by the public activist Siarhei Kavalenka against the fine that had been issued to him by Vitsebsk district court for participation in an unauthorized mass action.
The matter is that at the end of October the local human rights activists held a commemorative action in Paliayi – a place of mass fusillades of victims of Stalin’s repressions. About 25 participants of the action were detained and taken to Vitsebsk district police department. Siarhei Kavalenka was one of those who were fined by the court the following day.
