Stanislau Kavaleuski Detained

Stanislau was detained at Leninski district police department of Mahiliou for three hours. The police composed a confiscation report and confiscated the leaflets. Then the activist was released. However, there is a possibility that a violation report can be drawn on him, as a result of which Stanislau can be fined.
Stanislau Kavaleuski is a second-year student of Mahiliou State University. He is the char of a unit of the independent trade union of radio engineering and the editor of a student newspaper ‘Bum’ – Bulletin of Universities of Mahiliou.
In May 2007 the council of the historical faculty raised the question of Stanislau’s expulsion for participation in an unauthorized mass action against the repeal of the social benefits. On 15 October Kavaleuski was sentenced to three days of jail for alleged petty hooliganism. He was detained on 12 October, on the eve of the European March.
