Hrodna: Katsiaryna Bychak Can Be Expelled from University

Katsiaryna was an activist of the campaign for protection of the historical heritage of Hrodna. For family reasons she had to miss nine days of classes at the juridical faculty of Hrodna State University. Now the university administration tries to use this fact.

‘They decided to direct my case for expulsion or a rebuke. At first they threatened to expel me. In private talks they hinted that it was not because of the missed classes, but for certain public activities,’ said Katsiaryna Bychak in an interview with the European Radio.

The council of the juridical faculty decided to pass the student’s case to the rector’s office that will take a decision within 10-day term. At present Katsiaryna goes to all the classes everyday.
