Criminal Charges against Young Front Members in Zhlobin and Svetlahorsk

Another criminal case against activists of the unregistered organization Young Front was instigated in Homel region.

Arsen Yahorchanka, Young Front member from Svetlahorsk, and his Zhlobin colleague Kiryl Atamanchyk are suspected of activity on behalf of an unregistered organization. Yesterday local departments of KGB held searches in the apartments where the guys live. Kiryl Atamanchyk says: “The KGB agents showed me a search warrant and seized several flags, private photos and a system unit of my computer”.

This is the 11th time the authorities use Article 193 of the Criminal Code against Young Front members. Before that, the authorities prosecuted Zmitser Dashkevich who was sentenced to 18 months of jail, as well as Zmitser Khvedaruk, Barys Haretski, Nasta Palazhanka, Aliaksei Yanusheuski, Aleh Korban, Ivan Shyla, Nasta Azarka, and Yaraslau Hryshchenia who received fines of 30-40 basic units (450-600 US dollars).
